Parents and Guardians,
I hope this notice finds you all well. The intent of this message is to inform you that Marshwood Middle School (MMS) will begin using Wednesdays as an additional instructional day starting the week of May 3rd – May 7th. This adjustment will apply to both Hybrid and Remote Learning Academy (RLA) programs. Please be reminded that adding instructional time is part of the MMS/District reopening plan that was shared with families last August. However, It is important to note that any and all adjustments considered or implemented must first meet CDC/MDOE guidelines followed by determining that the safety of all students and staff remains our highest priority.
Beginning with Wednesday, May 5th followed by each Wednesday through the conclusion of the 2020-21 school year, student cohorts will alternate attending additional synchronous instructional time each week. Current Hybrid students will continue to receive their instructional time in person while current RLA students continue to receive their instructional time virtually. This adjustment in instructional time will not disrupt or change current cohorts of students in either the Hybrid or RLA programs. In addition, student cohorts will remain the same for all Hybrid students that ride district bus transportation to and from school. The included schedule indicates the dates when each cohort of students (A-K Monday-Tuesday cohort) or (L-Z Thursday-Friday cohort) will attend Wednesday instruction. Wednesday, May 12th: Students with their last name beginning with L-Z or assigned to the Thursday – Friday cohort.
Wednesday, May 19th: Students with their last name beginning with A-K or assigned to the Monday – Tuesday cohort.
Wednesday, May 26th: Students with last name beginning with L-Z or assigned to the Thursday – Friday cohort.
Wednesday, June 2nd: Students with their last name beginning with A-K or assigned to the Monday – Tuesday cohort.
Wednesday, June 9th: Students with last name beginning with L-Z or assigned to the Thursday – Friday cohort.
