Since September, all third grade students at Central and Eliot Elementary have been learning about the Wabanaki, the indigenous peoples who lived and continue to live on the land we now call Maine.  As a culminating activity, all third grade students in the district researched one of the five Wabanaki Nations, utilizing the modules developed by the state of Maine DOE in conjunction with Wabanaki leaders. The modules focused on the indigenous languages and how they reflect the relationship between the indigenous peoples and the natural world.
