Larry & Joe- Artist in Residence at Marshwood Schools
The Marshwood Music Department started work on a grant back last June to bring two professional musicians, Larry & Joe, to perform, and work for our students.
Larry is from Venezuela and Joe is from North Carolina. Their mission is to show people that music has no borders. They both are musicians who play a variety of different instruments and are combining traditional Venezuelan folk music with bluegrass & Appalachian music. Larry only speaks Spanish and Joe speaks English & Spanish.
Larry and Joe made their way around to all of the schools in our district! Many of our chorus, band and students taking Spanish classes worked with Larry and Joe. So much of our Marshwood student population got to hear them and work with them over the course of their 4-day stay!
Great Works students loved the music and songs that Larry and Joe performed for us. They ended their show with a school wide dance!
